I have talked a lot about how I stay organized, and how I (attempt to) keep track of my homework assignments and events going on in my life. And a big portion of that is experimenting with different ways of doing just that. Planning. planning to use different planning techniques to plan. Here are a few I've tried and my ratings on functionality and appearance. (All opinions are my own)
1. The Traditional planner.
The one below is actually the same one I have used from this past year. It's the Sugar Paper brand that is sold at Target. Its simple, well priced, cute, and does its job.
2. Plain Notebook.
I tend to use any plain notebook to keep track of random thoughts, writing ideas, and daily to-do lists. So I use both, the notebook and daily planner to keep things semi organized. This way, unfortunately, lacks a monthly calendar, and premade layouts, which leads to the idea of bullet journaling.
Okay. I tried this method and just couldn't get into it. Bullet journaling is basically taking the plain notebook way of planning and then using pretty color pens and a ruler and get to work on designing your entire own planner. I had an entire pinterest board and watched endless videos on how to make one. I found it to be painfully tedious, but also totally adorable when I did it.
4. Phone Planning
Simply just using your phone to plan. I also tend to use a bit of this just for convenience. Half of everything I've ever written is on the notes in my phone. To-Do lists, story ideas, people watching, christmas gift ideas, etc. However, I am a total paper and pen girl. I can't seem to ditch my notebooks and endless selection of pens and pencils.
These are just a few basic ways to keep everything going on in your life organized. sometimes just having your tasks and to-dos laid out in front of you can help calm a little bit of that anxiety. Organizing is fun, but being over organized could be inducing more stress and anxiety. Test out different methods to find what works best for you and your schedule.
