I always talk about how great Community College is, but Its not always the most amazing and efficient thing in the world. So when you're making a decision as big as college then you should have both sides. If you haven't checked out the pro lost, click the CCG Pro button below! Gas Money- I have spent SO much money on gas these last couple years. And its an absolute pain in the neck always having to be there when I drive 35-40 minutes each way each day.
Lack of Social Experiences- Now I'm not a super social person. I like to keep to myself and just people watch but It can be a bit lonely at times because 99% of people come for class and leave again. unlike a university setting where you are actually surrounded by your classmates all the time and encouraged to join clubs and teams. Explaining Your Decision- Nobody is going to ask you why you decided to go to a four year university but I guarantee nearly every person you tell that you go to community college will ask why, or ask how you like it. Its not always the popular choice and it may not seem as cool so people may say things and you may defend your decision. Not That Different From High School- A lot of people crave change once they graduate and going to school with similar buildings and similar people and similar class sizes, then you may feel a bit underwhelmed that things aren't that different from where you just came from. Staying home- I love staying home. I love getting to keep my room, and my bathroom and not have to worry about a crazy roommate other than my brothers down the hall, BUT when you're reaching twenty years old you may start feeling a little cramped living at home while all of your friends have cute dorms or apartments and are striving off their independence.
