Next to my bed side, I keep some of my most favorite books. Im not going to pretend I have a wide variety when it comes to my novels, but I'm a softy and these books have each impacted me in one way or another. whether I'm crying happy tears, angry tears, or both at the same time. From left to right,
The three pastel books are little journals from target that are currently blank, hopefully to be filled with random ideas soon. Anna and the French Kiss, & Isla and the Happily Ever After are two of the novels in Stephanie Perkins' collection. These books are excellently written with characters your heart aches for and cheers on the whole time. I read the first one in a day, and the other one in a couple of days. SO GOOD! Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen is an Oldie, and a Goodie. This one not only has the cutest cover, but a sweet story line I wish I could plop myself down in the middle of. Any Sarah Dessen book could have been here but this one just edged out the others. Writer's Idea Thesaurus. Not a fiction novel, but perfect to reach for at night when I need a different idea that I can mold into my own. My fellow writers probably understand this. Even though I like to come up with my own concepts, Its fun to really get new ideas I had not considered before. A Little Something Different is a book about a couple, told from all the points of view but theirs. Its told from the college roommate, the barista, the squirrel in the courtyard, even the bench. Creative, cute, funny, and another book I find myself wanting to scream at the book because I had become to invested in all of these little lives. The Summer I Turned Pretty, is (I believe) my first trilogy/series I finished. Han nails it with this one, because while reading these books I seriously felt as if I was a part of this family, and when they were over, so was my life (Temporarily of course) Love Belly and her story. We Were Liars is my current obsession. Everything from the size of the book, the way it feels in my hands, the pages, the cover, the characters, the scenery, the setting, the language, absolutely everything about this book had me enticed. I wanted to carry this book everywhere with me, and basically I did. If you're looking for a plot twist, and deep and mysterious book READ THIS! Writing this makes me want to re-read it. And I am not one to re-read a book. The next one, Dancing Shoes is a book I don't remember. My Dad read it to me when I was little. I was manly captured by his hands, and how his fingers held the pages, and his voice. I remember loving it, and loving those moments, and I almost don't want to read it because of the sweet memories that come with this one. But it more than deserved a space next to my bed. This one was mentioned in You've Got Mail with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. Next to that is my proud collection of all the Shrek Movies. Need I say more? Little House on The Prairie has yet to be read, but is on the list. My family used to watch the T.V show when I was a youngin, and would love to relive the adventures. America's First Daughter is the current book I'm reading. Its a revolutionary war tale about Thomas Jefferson's daughter. Im trying to change up what I read, yet I still find female protagonists who are about my age. It's a problem... I know... NOT PICTURED: Lets Get Lost -Adi Alsaid, one of my all time favorites. Funny characters your heart breaks for and again you just want them to succeed more than anything. Im currently loaning it out for someone to read. Those are all of the novels next to my bed, and some of my favorites. Comment some of your favorite books! Thanks for reading xxallie
