Singer/song-writer Liz Bissonette is steadily climbing up with her witty lyrics and guitar. She's pushing 5,000 twitter followers from all over the world, and her youtube page almost at 2,000 subscribers. (Above is her most recent song.) Liz has had put on her own concerts for local fans!
I managed to hang out with her among a few others after a Charlie Puth concert back in March. From the thousands of views on her youtube videos to singing onstage with Kelsea Ballerini this girl is going places, and heres the interview I did over email with the very well-spoken Liz Bissonette!

(AD) What started this whole singing thing for you? And what drives you to keep pursuing it?
  (LB)  "
I've always loved singing, i've been singing for as long as I can remember. But when it came to pursuing it, it was all the females in the industry that were killing it (especially Taylor Swift). I loved seeing everyone do what they love and it made me love singing even more, which gave me the dream I have!"

(AD) Who are some of your major role models in life?
(LB) "When it comes to my top role models I call them The Holy Trinity hahaha. It's Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini and Charlie Puth. Taylor inspires me in the fact that she makes me feel comfortable with sharing my feels through music. She makes me feel like my songs and feelings are valid, and like they deserve to be said. My favorite thing about Kelsea is that no matter what song she writes, no matter how sad a break up or anything like that, there's always a sense of women empowerment in her music. There's always that little meaning of "you hurt me really bad, but I'm going to be fine without you." And when it comes to Charlie, I love how in sync he is with everything. Not only is he a singer, but he's a songwriter, and a producer. He really knows what he's doing and you can tell it absolutely consumes him. I look up to him so much for that, it really inspires me."

(AD)  Do you prefer signing covers or your own songs?
(LB) " I love singing both!! My favorite thing about singing covers is putting my own vibe to someone else's song, I think it's so cool. I also love that I can tell my story and feelings through someone else's music. When it comes to singing my songs, I love it and I also get a little nervous because I'm more vulnerable. I love watching people's faces when I sing my music. I love hearing people sing the words back. It's everything I could ask for."

(AD)   How much of your music comes from your own life? And what's your rule with privacy and your career?
(LB) " I write my songs about what I go through in my life and what I deal with every day. Every song of mine his large amounts of truth behind it. It's harder for me to write songs about things I never went through or experienced. If you told me a name of my song, I could give you the name of the person that it's about/that inspired it. When it comes to privacy, I keep my home life to myself unless I write about it. I don't talk about that much. But when it comes to songs about boys, there's one that a lot of people know who it's about. He even knows I wrote it about him. I don't have a rule where I keep the subject of my songs top secret, but I do like to keep them to myself a lot of the time. "

(AD) Where do you want to see yourself in 5 years musically?
(LB) "In 5 years, I would love to see myself working with a label and still making music. I hope no matter where I am in my life I'm making music."

(AD)  Favorite song to sing in the car?
(LB) "My favorite song to sing in the car is "Peter Pan" by Kelsea Ballerini. I relate to it so much, like most people, and I find comfort in belting it while driving around. I also love jamming to some Hannah Montana in the car. HANNAH MONTANA  4 LIFE."

(AD)  Of course, describe singing with Kelsea Ballerini!
(LB) "Singing with Kelsea Ballerini was hands down the coolest experience of my life. I've been fortunate to experience a lot of amazing things, but this is my highlight. I got to watch her hit the stage from backstage and seeing her walk out and absolutely kill it was so cool. She treated me just like a friend. When I walked out on stage I couldn't stop thinking, "this is real, and this is what I want to do every day for the rest of my life." I'm so incredibly thankful she shared her time with me. I'm so happy I got to do my favorite thing in the world with one of my favorite people."
