I purchased this book nearly a year ago, read the first chapter or two, put it down and totally confused. I went to speak with some classes at my old high school, I saw one of my old teachers who told me that I needed to finish it. And I did. In two days. The story follows teenager Mara Dyer after an accident that she doesnt quite remember. You learn more about Mara's life and all of the confusing and scary situation and she does. The story is filled with corners you cant see around, and have no idea whats coming. New school, new friends, new enemies, new lessons to learn about herself. Its confusing and uplifting and mysteriously dark and twisted all the same. The main character, Mara Deyer, Is on this strange journey at which neither you nor Mara know where it's going to lead you.A story that seems to completely pull you in, and you find yourself standing next to Mara and Noah during a twisted adventure. As I continued to read, some moments get complicated and confusing but the story continuously builds upon itself. Recommended: YES! Will continue to read the series?: Currently on the second book. Michelle Hodkin does an impressive job of getting inside the head of somebody like Mara, and show Author: Michelle Hodkin Genre: Paranormal Fiction Copyright: 2011 Page count: 429 Age recommendation: 13 and up Sources: The Unbecoming of Mara Deyer Goodreads.com All opinions are my own.
